You've been told that rock doesn't light up the Billboard charts anymore, that the best rock is blowing out 40 or 50 candles on a birthday cake, that new artists aren't making vintage sounding, butt kicking, guitar driven rock, and that your favorite rock artists belong in nursing homes and museums.
You've been lied to.
At Philly Rock Radio, we embrace the rock you love and NEW rock that feels like the rock you love. Rock isn't dead. And we're gonna prove it. On every show you'll hear hits AND deep cuts from the giant, arena-packing bands that made you first raise your fist and bang your head in the first place. Van Halen? Sabbath? Zeppelin? AC/DC? Skynyrd? Hell, yes. And so many more.
And you know what? A lot of those bands are still releasing music. Not that you'd know that from those other radio stations that begin and end with boy bands that were formed sometime last week by a bored record exec. WE play all the awesome new songs from the true rock gods. They deserve it. You deserve to hear it.
But the best part is we dig and scrape and scour for NEW bands that sound familiar. Bands that know what a riff is supposed to sound like. Bands like Dirty Honey, Airbourne, Bad Touch, and Buffalo Summer. These bands will make you swear you somehow missed their hit singles in the summer of '78.

Philly Rock Radio is an internet radio station that launched in 2012, focusing on Hard Rock, Heavy Metal and Classic Rock from the late ’60s through the '80s. Over the year's our format includes a large library of new music from the bands we grew up on, as well as, the “The New Wave of Classic Rock” that include a whole new generation of artists and bands from around the world keeping our favorite flavors of rock & roll, and its spirit, alive.
