Well, in dramatic fashion, Seattle's hopes of a second Super Bowl Championship in a row went BOOM...up in flames as the New England Patriots won 28-24. Seattle was driving at the end of the game and trying to make a remarkable comeback. The Seahawks had the ball at the New England 1 Yard Line with 20 seconds to play and a first and goal.
Well this offseason should have plenty of drama, but there will be no other issue that will face more debate than this last play call. What was Pete Carol thinking???!! You have the Running Back named "Beast Mode" sitting behind the line and you throw the ball? Are you kidding me. My five year old niece could have called a better play at that moment and she has never saw an NFL Game live. I mean, even if you chose not to run Marshawn Lynch, you have Russell Wilson the most athletic Quarterback in the game. You could have did play action and then had Russell Wilson run the ball in for the touchdown. No one will ever really know what was going on inside of Seattle's coaching staff's mind at that key moment, but one things for sure; that play cost Seattle another Championship and gift wrapped the Patriots with their fourth title in six times under Bellichek.
Anyways...enough chatter about the most talked about sports moment of the past four days...it is time to move on and look ahead to the future. Although the NFL season is over, I will continue to provide news stories and sports debate throughout the offseason all the way until training camp. In fact, those of you that follow me know that I did a "Best Of" installment in the past and it was the Top 20 Quarterbacks, Top 20 Running Backs, Top 20 Wide Receivers, Top 15 Tight Ends, and Top 10 Defenses of all-time. Well now I will shift gears and I am going to concentrate on the Defensive side of the ball including individual positions as well as team units. In honor of "The Legion of Boom," I will focus my first installment on the Top 10 Defensive Secondary Units of all-time. So stay tuned for some exciting facts and debate, and as always, if you disagree please feel free to speak your mind. That is the purpose of my blog, to get the mind flowing and stimulate debate and discussion. Until next time, this is Jason Voorhees reporting for Philly Rock Radio. Talk to ya Soon.
