Well, this year Jim is unveiling his new project...DV8 at the bash. This will be the debut performance of DV8 and has been long anticipated. DV8 is a "DVS" tribute band that was born to honor the music that DVS played so well during the eighties and nineties. The cofounders of the band DV8 are Jim Alessi, Ed Owens, and Steve Kohler. Ed Owens is a diversified vocalist that has fronted another original band, "Loaded Gun." Steve Kohler played in a well known cover band called "De javu" The band is also compromised of guitarist Kenny Straub and Richie Mahn, both formerly of "DVS." Ed Frost (99 Reasons) was recruited to be the band's keyboardist. A second vocalist was also added in Glen Frank (a south jersey power vocalist). And finally, the band has been rounded out with drummers Joey Pardisio and Billy Misner who are filling in for the original drummer, Jimmy Minino, who is not ready to play as of yet.
The band has spent a long time with rehearsal and plans to play 4-5 Times per year at important functions. For all of you die hard eighties fans...this band brings a boat load of talent to the table. The band will be doing a full Whitesnake tribute along with a full eighties performance. They have an incredible setlist planned for Sunday's show so be prepared to rock out full metal jacket style. The band is being unveiled for the first time at Jim's Birthday Bash at Hot Shots along with some other special guests...Liz Braender, Ski, Chrissy Haropp, Sean McKenna, Harry Rosa, as well as Liz and Billy (Dejavu), Melissa Schill (Crashing Saturn) and Flip Martorano (Extraordinare). The band's Fire Your Guns, Sweet Revenge, and Misstify will also be playing at the show. There may even be a special guest appearance from GG from Heavens Edge and Kim Wilcox from Sweet Revenge. Corey Wacker is running sound and Harry Elder has an awesome light show planned. There will be plenty of food (Roast Beef, Pasta, Meatballs, veggies) and $2 Coors Lights along with specials on Yeager and Fire Ball Shots. Melissa D from "Out on the Town" magazine will be taking pictures.
