Halestorm released their newest studio effort "Into The Wild Life" on April 14th of this year. It is their third full-length album overall.
Going in I didn't have any real expectations. I must say that I am pleasantly surprised by the outcome.
Almost all the tracks on "Into The Wild Life" are solid including the two deluxe edition bonus songs. I do have some favorites though starting with “Scream” which is the album opener. It’s a thundering Electro infused battle song featuring Lzzy unleashing some pretty hellish primal screams. The song then reduces to a calm mystic interlude that spills over into track two “I Am The Fire”. "I Am The Fire" begins where “Scream” left off but quickly escalates to an intense jam that puts you in ass-kicking mode. Jumping down to track 11, the album’s first single “Apocalyptic”. Imagine “Fifty Shades of Grey” with Rock ‘N’ Roll attitude - enough said. “I Like It Heavy” wraps out the basic cut of the album setting at number 13. “I Like It Heavy” is a nitrous fueled Rock anthem that will become if not already a highlight of their live set.
“Into The Wild Life” is strong but I think Halestorm’s best is yet to come. If you’re not familiar with Halestorm I highly recommend both the band and “Into The Wild Life”. Halestorm is a great band. They respect Rock’s past and are eager to be apart of its future. Through their music and attitude you can clearly tell the band loves and appreciates their fans. I’m looking forward to their next release but in the meantime I’ll continue to enjoy the wild life of Halestorm.
